🏛 About the Binbirdirek Cistern
Built in the 4th century A.D. during the reign of Emperor Constantine and later expanded in the Byzantine era, the Binbirdirek Cistern once supplied water to the imperial palace. It is the second-largest underground cistern in Istanbul.
Located beside the ancient Hippodrome, this awe-inspiring monument now welcomes visitors into a mystical atmosphere, where history, spirituality, and art blend in harmony.
